The Punjab Cabinet has approved the dissolution of the Punjab Liquidation Board, with a final approval pending from the full Cabinet.

Once the process is finalised, the board's employees and assets will be transferred to the Punjab Board of Revenue (BoR), as reported by the 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.

On November 20, 2024, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif gave her consent for the dissolution of the Punjab Liquidation Board.

CM Maryam Nawaz also instructed that the case be forwarded to the Cabinet for final approval.

The Liquidation Board was responsible for recovering looted funds from various cooperative banks and societies and returning the money to the rightful owners.

Sources indicate that the Board has successfully completed its assigned tasks in this regard.

Following the approval, all employees of the Punjab Liquidation Board will be integrated into the Punjab Board of Revenue.
