Special Assistant to Punjab Chief Minister on Information Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan has said that the budget will bring a surprise for the opposition, adding that it will not only give relief to the people in every sector but fulfil the aspirations of the people.  

Talking to the media in Gulberg, Dr Firdous said the government will pass the budget with an overwhelming majority and even the opposition will be compelled to appreciate the government. It is unwise to criticize the budget which has not been presented yet.  

"The new concessions and facilities that are being given in the budget will surprise the opposition. Shehbaz Sharif and his cronies have started criticising the budget just for the sake of criticism. The PTI will continue working for the betterment of the country."     

The Special Assistant said the Ravi River City will not only create jobs for the people but will also be environment friendly. Our government is building hospitals in Lahore.

She said the opposition used Lahore only for politics and earlier people used to complain a lot about the environmental issues in the city but now it will not happen.

“Those who will work honestly will be rewarded however, action will be taken against those showing negligence.”  

Dr Firdous said the sewerage and water system will be improved in the second phase of ‘Khidmat Aap Ki Dehleez Par’ whereas government buildings will be renovated in the third phase.

She said that currently, 770 vaccination centres are operational that will be expanded to 1,000.

The SACM said the country will progress when the administration and peoples’ representatives realise their responsibility.

“The opposition turned Lahore into a concrete jungle and we have to plant more trees to make our country beautiful. “

She urged upon media to promote plantation as well.
