Cotton factory collapses in Karachi; one dead

A labourer died and three were rescued alive from the rubble after the second floor of an old cotton factory collapsed in Karachi on Saturday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The rescue operation was underway with heavy machinery to find another man from the rubble of the factory located in the Landhi Export Processing Zone.

Rescue teams said that the incident occurred when goods were being offloaded from a container onto the roof.
Officials said the incident will be probed thoroughly. “It would be premature to talk about now how this tragedy unfolded,” they further said.
Rescue personnel said it will take time to clear the remaining structure of the collapsed factory.
