Jamait Ulema-e-Isalam-Fazl group (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has expressed serious concerns over the deteriorating situation in Balochistan, highlighting that in some schools, the national anthem of Pakistan is not even sung.

According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, he addressed the National Assembly's Wednesday session and urged the government and other stakeholders to go to Balochistan and engage directly with the local people to understand the gravity of the situation.

Maulana Fazlur Rehman criticised the sidelining of senior political leadership and called for empowering politicians to handle the country’s affairs.

He questioned whether the current government has the authority to make decisive actions, emphasising that the nation is not merely fighting for interests but is caught in a proxy war.

The JUI-F chief warned that the current approach is worsening the situation, and when the state fails, it falls upon them to take control.

He stated, "We are in the opposition, but we are ready to step up if the country needs us. The issues are not insurmountable if we sit down seriously and address them." Referring to Akhtar Mengal’s resignation, he said, "He resigned because the Parliament has no real role."

Maulana Fazlur Rehman highlighted the severity of the situation in Balochistan, mentioning multiple attacks happening in different locations on the same day, and warned that simply shifting responsibility to others will not solve the problem.

He further commented, "We are a force in ourselves, but the importance of Parliament is diminishing while the significance of the fields is increasing. We are field people, and this is not being given importance in Parliament."

Talking about the resignation of Sardar Akhtar Mengal, Maulana Fazlur Rehman stated that the government and all institutions should realise the extent of the crisis.

He noted that when experienced leaders resign out of frustration, less serious individuals come to the forefront, further complicating the situation, which is precisely what the world seems to want.
