April 6, 2020 03:35 PM

Popular Indian singer Kanika Kapoor, who was tested positive for COVID-19 on March 20, has been finally tested negative.

The singer has now been discharged and is headed for home after three weeks of quarantine.

In total, Kanika has had six COVID-19 tests, four of which had been positive, prompting worries among her family that she was not responding to treatment.

She is the first Bollywood celebrity to test positive for the deadly virus in the country.

In a statement on Instagram, which she later deleted, Kanika narrated how she developed signs of flu on her return from London. She claimed that she was unaware of the Corona infection till she tested positive.

Kanika has been called 'selfish' and 'careless' by many on social media for reportedly attending numerous gatherings post her return from London,
which, others feel, endangered a lot of lives besides her own.

As per reports, 3 FIRs have been filed against the playback singer.
