The historic Camel Fashion Show became the centre of public attention at the Besakhi Mela in Sakhi Sarwar, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel on Sunday.
In a modern twist to traditional culture, camels—known as the “planes of the desert”—were seen expressing a different kind of charm, dazzling onlookers with their elaborate grooming, stylish haircuts, and artistic decorations.
The channel reported that the camels, hailing from Sindhi, Punjabi, and Balochi regions, entered the arena proudly flaunting unique styles.
Specialised camel groomers, referred to as design experts, charged Rs5,000 for trimming and crafting intricate designs into the camels’ hair.
One such expert claimed to have been in the trade for the past 60 years, reflecting the deep-rooted tradition and craftsmanship behind the art.
The event added a touch of colourful desert culture to the centuries-old Besakhi Mela, where animals and tradition walk hand in hand — quite literally.
