On International Sports Day, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif highlighted the significant role of sports in fostering peace, development, and unity in society, 24NewsHD TV Channel reported on Sunday.
In her message on the occasion, Maryam Nawaz emphasised that the purpose of celebrating the day is to promote the positive impact of sports on social development and community peace. She said, “Sports events pave the way for peace and development in society.”

She said sports plays an important role in instilling teamwork, competition, and tolerance among the youth. Maryam Nawaz Sharif said the Khelta Punjab program has been launched to promote sports in Punjab.
Pink jeans in Punjab are a metaphor for peace and equal development, Maryam Nawaz said. She said the government is building grounds and gymnasiums to promote sports.
Steps are being taken to build 300 grounds and sports complexes in Punjab, Maryam Nawaz said.
Minister Maryam Nawaz said that equal opportunities for sports are being provided to every youth, elderly, disabled, and youth of other disadvantaged areas.
She said sports endowment funds will be further increased. Maryam Nawaz Sharif said that all possible resources will be provided for sports.
