Thick fog darkens Motorways, several shut down for traffic

The Motorway in Lahore has been shut down as thick fog darkened the highways leading to several cities on Tuesday morning, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Motorway M2 from Lahore to Khanqah Dogar was closed for traffic and heavy fog enveloped it.

The case was no different on Lahore-Multan Motorway M3 which was shut down from Faizpur to Darkhana.

Lahore-Sialkot Motorway M11 was also off-limits for traffic due to dark fog.

Motorway M1 was also closed for traffic from Peshawar Toll Plaza to Islamabad.

Similarly, Motorway M4 from Faisalabad to Abdul Hakim, Motorway M5 from Rahim Yar Khan to Rohri were also closed for traffic.

Motorway Police spokesman Syed Imran Ahmad has appealed the drivers to use Grand Trunk (GT) Road for travelling as motorway were not accessible at the moment. They have also urged the drivers to drive slowly and switch on the fog lights.

The Motorway police also requested the commuters to stay at home and avoid unnecessary travelling.
