Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi has opened Shahrah-e-Nazaria Pakistan for traffic, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Tuesday.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister said the 6.5km signal-free corridor was completed in a short time. It is the busiest highway in the city, he said, adding that the long-standing issue has been resolved.
Two U-turns were built earlier while another five new protected U-turns have been constructed now, he maintained, adding that not a single tree was cut during the construction.
Residents of Wapda Town, Canal Bank Road, PCSIR, Johar Town, PIA Society, Abdaleen Society and adjoining areas will be the beneficiaries, he said, adding that more than 100,000 vehicles will pass on it every day.
The chief minister reiterated his resolve to ensure better public service delivery, Last week, the CM inaugurated the Maulana Muhammad Ali Johar Flyovers project and greeted the officials of civic bodies and all the crew associated with the project on its completion.
Also, the Bedian underpass, Shahdara flyovers and Cavalry underpass were completed in record time and opened for traffic. Provincial ministers and senior officials were also present.
