A British police officer was on Thursday arrested by counter-terrorism officers on suspicion of being a member of a banned organisation, London's Metropolitan police said.
The 21-year-old police constable is suspected of being a member of a group "linked to right-wing terrorism", the Met said in a statement.
Searches were being carried out at an address in London where the serving officer was arrested.
The suspect was in custody, the statement said, adding that there was no current threat to public safety.
