IHC dismisses Add Sessions Judge Jahangir Awan over misconduct

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) dismissed Additional District and Sessions Judge Jahangir Awan after he was found guilty of opening shots in the red zone, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.
As per the notification issued on the directives of IHC Chief Justice Attar Minallah, “Jahangir Awan was given a chance to be heard but he could not satisfy with his arguments.”
The Additional and Sessions Judge has now been dismissed over misconduct, the notification said, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
On September 12 this year, Additional District and Sessions Judge Jahangir Awan and an MPA’s husband Chaudhry Khurram, after a heated argument on Constitution Avenue, opened fire at each other, police said.
Both of them were shifted to the Secretariat police station. Police said Sessions Judge Jehangir Awan and Chaudhry Khurram were in their vehicles when they exchanged hot words near D-Chowk.
He said both drove forward but after reaching a fuel station located in front of Foreign Office, they began arguing and opened fire at each other.
