A spokesperson for the Islamabad chief commissioner's office called fake reports about suspending the No Objection Certificate (NOC) for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf to hold a political rally in Tarnol.
In a statement, the Islamabad Office official said the administration has not issued such a notification.
The spokesperson said the letter regarding the cancellation of the rally is fake and baseless.
Legal action will be taken against those who produce and distribute fake letters, the official said, adding that false and baseless propaganda is being done by doing such acts.
The PTI planned a rally in Tarnol on Saturday but after the notification went viral, it held a meeting on Friday and put off the gathering.
