Punjab CM says Lahore’s Khalid Butt Chowk Underpass to be completed this month

Punjab Caretaker Chief Minister (CM) Mohsin Naqvi reached Cavalry Ground, Lahore, and visited the Khalid Butt Chowk Underpass Project where he inspected the progress of ongoing construction works in the project, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
“Above 90 percent work of the Khalid Butt Chowk underpass project has been completed. The underpass will be completed by the middle of this month,” he said and directed to speed up the work on the project.
Provincial ministers – Amir Mir, Azfar Ali Nasir and Ibrahim Hasan Murad accompanied the chief minister.
The chief minister inspected the construction of the inner walls of the underpass, and he also gave instructions to the Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) director general for plantation and landscaping on greenbelts around the project.
“Khalid Butt Chowk Underpass will be opened for traffic soon. With the completion of the project, as many as 180,000 vehicles will be facilitated daily,” Mohsin Naqvi said.
“People of Gulberg, Kalma Chowk, Cantt Cavalry Ground, DHA and Walton areas will benefit from the project,” he added.
The Lahore commissioner, chief engineer and contractor gave a briefing on the progress of the project to the chief minister.
“The work on the inner walls of the underpass will be completed in the next few days. Work to build the inner road of the underpass continues day and night,” the chief minister was briefed.
“Work on the decking slab of the underpass and the roads along is also in full swing,” he was briefed further.
The Lahore deputy commissioner, DIG Operations, CTO and other officials concerned were also present on the occasion.
