Liquor maker burns alive his worker over verbal spat in Khanewal

In a horrifying incident in Khanewal, a notorious bootlegger allegedly burnt his own employee alive following a heated argument, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Tuesday.
According to the channel report, the gruesome event occurred in the 168/10-R Mari Wala area, under the jurisdiction of Sadar Police Station.
The accused, Nasser Gujjar, was involved in producing liquor with his employee Iqbal when a verbal altercation broke out between them.
In a fit of rage, Nasser attacked Iqbal with a knife and then burnt him alive in the alcohol distillery furnace.
The suspects were reportedly trying to dispose of the charred body when they spotted police and fled, leaving the corpse behind.
Sadar Police took custody of the body and shifted it to the DHQ Hospital for post-mortem examination.
The SHO of Sadar Police Station stated that investigations are ongoing and an official case will be registered upon receiving the post-mortem report.
Inspector General (IG) Punjab Dr Usman Anwar took immediate notice of the incident and demanded a report from RPO Multan. He also directed DPO Khanewal to ensure the immediate arrest of those involved in the tragic crime.
IG Punjab vowed that all available resources would be utilised to arrest the brutal culprits. Meanwhile, a Punjab Police spokesperson confirmed that Sadar Police Station has lodged a case against the accused, Nasser and Basharat, on behalf of the police.
DPO Khanewal, Ismail Kharak, has constituted special teams to apprehend the suspects, adding that raids are being conducted and the culprits will be arrested soon.
