Aleema Khan, the sister of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, has announced a protest outside Adiala Jail after she was denied a meeting with her incarcerated brother.
According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, the call for the sit-in has prompted the Rawalpindi police to implement extraordinary security measures around the prison.
According to sources, comprehensive security arrangements have been finalised in view of the law and order situation.
Special security teams have been formed under the supervision of SP Saddar Division to secure the jail and surrounding areas.
Sources added that extra police personnel have been deployed at Gates No 1, 3, and 5 of Adiala Jail.
In addition, checkpoints have been set up at seven different entry routes leading to the jail premises.
The Elite Force personnel have been stationed in the area, while a significant number of women police officers have been deployed at the Adiala Police Post.
Traffic police officers will remain present outside the jail to maintain the flow of traffic during the protest.
These measures aim to prevent any untoward incident during the sit-in led by Aleema Khan, who continues to demand access to meet the PTI founder.
