Seeking final arguments in PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s disqualification case, the Islamabad High Court has adjourned the hearing of the case till December 13, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
IHC Chief Justice Aamer Farooq on Thursday heard the petition filed by former prime minister and PTI Chief Imran Khan challenging his disqualification by the Election Commission of Pakistan in Toshakhana reference.
Imran’s lawyer Ali Zafar, ECP lawyers and PML-N leader Mohsin Shah Nawaz Ranjha along with his lawyer appeared before the court.
At the outset of the hearing, PTI lawyer requested the court to stop the election commission from taking any action in this regard.
Ali Zafar told the court that the ECP submitted a complaint for starting criminal proceedings against PTI chief. The commission has also started a process to remove Imran from the chairmanship of his party, the lawyer added.
On this, the ECP representative contended that the court had already stopped the commission from taking any action and it had not started any procedure in this regard.
Chief Justice Farooq remarked that the court would decide this case soon.
With this, the judge adjourned the case till Dec 13.
