Seven kids among 12 dead in roof collapse incidents

As many as 12 people including seven children were killed in roof collapse incidents caused by rain and snowfall in Dir Bala, Gujranwala, Kotli and other areas of the country on Saturday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Dir Bala
Reportedly, four children and their mother died in Dogdara area of Dir Bala when the roof of their house caved in owing to heavy snowfall.
Police and nearby residents are busy with rescue activities.
Gujranwala
In another incident, the ceiling of a house situated on Hafizabad Road in Gujranwala collapsed following heavy rain that lashed the city. As a result, two toddlers died while their father and another kid sustained injuries.
Rescue officials shifted the dead bodies and injured people to a local hospital.
The deceased included: Asma (5) and Iqra (8). Their three-year-old sibling Asmatullah’s condition was also critical.
Kotli
In Kotli, Azad Kashmir, a young boy was killed when the roof of his house crumpled following torrential rain and snow.
Kharian
A guard was killed when roof of his quarter was caved in due to heavy rain in Asghar Town of Kharian. His body was shifted to hospital.
Fateh Jang
A man died when roof of his mudhouse collapsed in Village Malal of Fateh Jang. Rescue 1122 and police rushed to the scene and retrieved the body of Amraiz.
Narowal
A man died and his wife was seriously injured when roof of their house came down amid heavy rain in Sanghatara village of Narowal. The man was killed on the spot while the injured wife was rushed to hospital.
Pakpattan
Four people including a couple and their two children were injured when heavy rain triggered collapse of their house’s roof in Pakpattan. All the injured were rushed to hospital for treatment.
Khyber
A five-year-old child was killed while his mother and another child were injured in a roof collapse in the Malik Dinkhail area of Bara in District Khyber.
