A high-level delegation of international textile brand Primark met with Punjab Chief Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi on Saturday and discussed matters related to increasing country’s textile exports, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Punjab Minister for Industries SM Tanvir, chief secretary, P&D chairman and renowned industrialist Gohar Ejaz informed the visitors about the steps taken by the provincial government for increase in the cotton production.

It was told that in order to get maximum production of the crop, farmers had been given different incentives.

It was further informed that effective steps had been taken to eliminate the use of spurious pesticides and substandard seeds so that quality cotton could be produced.

Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister said that a plan had been drawn up to supply electricity to the textile industry at reasonable rates.

He further said that when it came to the promotion of trade and industry, all state institutions were on the same page.

CM Naqvi vowed to provide all facilities to the textile industry for increasing exports from Punjab. “We welcome the Primark delegation in Punjab,” he added.

The delegation included Mathew Rhoads, John Stephen, Siddique Bhatti, Habib Anwar and Amir Fayyaz.
