PML-N President and the Opposition Leader in National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif on Sunday said the success and prosperity of any society owes itself to women’s education, their good health and their economic independence.

Reflecting the indispensability of women in his special message on Women’s Day, Shehbaz said “Life is incomplete without women,” adding that all relations emanate from women in the form of mother, sister, daughter and wife.

The opposition leader said, “God introduced Himself (to a child) through women, and she has the most exalted status in social life.”

While reiterating the significance of women in the form of a mother, he said “By putting heaven beneath her feet, God clarified her indisputably exalted position in the society.”

He said that Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)’s treatment of women is the greatest example for our inspiration, adding “The house of the Prophet is the leading example for the women to follow.”

Recalling the role of women in Pakistan’s movement, the PML-N leader said “Women’s role under the leadership of Fatima Jinnah deserves to be written in golden words.”

“Thank God, today our women are excelling in all walks of life; from defence to trade, and from education to science and technology and journalism, women are proving their mettle in all walks of life.”

“We’re lucky that over 50 percent of the population of Pakistan comprises women.”

“However, the success and prosperity of any society owes itself to women’s education, their good health and their economic independence.”

Shehbaz said if there are shortcomings then we will have to focus on improving ourselves, adding “It’s advisable to avoid any undue criticism. Instead, we should promote freedom of expression in a civilized way.”

“Under Nawaz Sharif’s leadership PML-N always worked to promote and ensure women rights and their protection,” the younger Sharif said and added, “If given another chance, we promise to take historic steps for the women’s education, and their economic betterment.”
