IHC throws out petition seeking judges elevation on seniority basis

The Islamabad High Court has thrown out a petition seeking the elevation of high court judges to the Supreme Court on a seniority basis, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Declaring the petition as non-maintainable, IHC Chief Justice Athar Minallah remarked that this was not the forum to take up such issues. He asked the petitioner to go to the lawyers bodies.

Petitioner Moeenul Zafar Khan, who appeared before the court in his personal capacity, has made Secretary Establishment, Secretary to President and Registrar Judicial Commission as respondents.

Justice Minallah issued the orders after hearing the arguments of the petitioner.
