India’s involvement in international terrorism has once again been exposed, as an American court prepares to try Indian national Nikhil Gupta for his alleged role in a murder-for-hire plot targeting Sikh separatist leader Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, 24NewsHD TV Channel reported on Wednesday.

According to U.S. authorities, Gupta was charged with conspiracy to commit murder and will face trial on November 3, as decided by an American judge.

The court has also ordered the seizure of $15,000 in cash recovered from Gupta, which officials say was paid by a former Indian intelligence officer to fund the assassination.

The case has drawn serious international attention, revealing a disturbing link between Indian intelligence agencies and targeted killings abroad.

The charges against Gupta allege that he conspired to kill Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, a U.S.-based Sikh leader and prominent Khalistani activist.

The case has severely damaged India’s international reputation, with legal proceedings highlighting the negative role of Indian agencies in orchestrated violence.

Gupta was arrested in June 2023 in the Czech Republic, and after a year-long legal process, he was extradited to the United States to face charges.

His arrest and prosecution have raised serious concerns about the involvement of Indian operatives in extrajudicial actions on foreign soil.

Legal experts say the case stands as compelling evidence of Indian intelligence’s role in transnational assassination plots, triggering widespread condemnation from human rights groups and global observers.
