Safari Park to get a makeover inspired by Singapore: CM Naqvi

Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi Friday laid the foundation stone for the upgradation of Safari Zoo Park, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
He said the park will be transformed into a world-class attraction on the lines of Singapore Safari Park.
The Chief Minister visited various sections of the park, including Sher Ghar, Lake, and animal cages. He inspected the condition of the deer and other animals and expressed his satisfaction with their care.
He also took a boat ride on the lake and directed the authorities to clean the water and enhance the recreational facilities around it for the visitors.
He announced that new animals would be brought to the park, such as elephants, rhinos, giraffes, zebras, ostriches, and different species of deer. He said that the cages would be built according to international standards and that the park would have separate zones for African, desert, and salt range wildlife.
He also said that a night safari will be launched soon and that the visitors will have the option to stay overnight in specially designed huts in the park.
He further said that an e-ticketing system will be introduced in the park to facilitate the entry and exit of visitors.
He added that both Safari Park and Lahore Zoo will be upgraded according to international standards and that other facilities such as restaurants, shops, and playgrounds will also be added to them.
The Chief Minister was briefed by the officials about the upgradation plan of Safari Park and its expected benefits for the wildlife conservation and tourism promotion. He was accompanied by Provincial Ministers Amir Mir, Bilal Afzal, Adviser Wahab Riaz, Chairman Planning and Development Board, Secretaries Forests, Wildlife and Fisheries, Construction and Communications, Livestock, Director General Wildlife and other related officials.
