Downpour deaths on rise in Balochistan and Karachi

Rains have been playing havoc in parts of Balochistan and Karachi, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Friday.
A total of 54 people have so far been killed while dozens of others went missing in the largest province. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced Rs1 million in financial aid to the affected.
Tangi Dam broke while Pak-Afghan villages were washed away and seven dams broke in Pishin, Qila Saifullah, Muslim Bagh, Qila Abdullah, Zhob. Emergency aid for children and families of flood victims has been approved.
The rainfall of 77mm was recorded in Gulshan-e-Hadid and Steel Town while 44mm rain at Old Airport, 33mm at Faisal Base and 31 mm at Jinnah Terminal.

Relief and rehabilitation activities are on in the rain-affected districts of Balochistan. A tent village has been set up by the district administration for the victims of heavy rains and floods in Quetta while relief goods and food are being distributed among the victims.
On the directives of Gilgit Baltistan Chief Minister Muhammad Khalid Khurshid, the concerned departments and district administrations are busy with relief operations and rehabilitation activities.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Army has delivered food packs and medicines to the affectees by helicopter in Ghazar district.
