Three killed, as many held in encounters with Karachi police

At least three suspects were killed in a shootout with Karachi police in Orangi Town, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.

According to police, a policeman was also injured in firing by the accused during the shootout.

Meanwhile, Karachi police arrested three other suspects including a member of notorious Lyari gang in two different encounters.

Two of the suspects, identified as Naveed Nur and Munir Hussain, were arrested in the jurisdiction of Taimuria police station.

Both of them were held in injured condition after an exchange of fire with the police and shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. The police recovered arms and a stolen motorcycle from their possession.

The other suspect, identified as Imran Ali alias Maya, a dacoit and extortionist of notorious Lyari gang, was arrested during an encounter with police near Bakra Piri, Lyari.

He was held in injured condition after a shootout with police and shifted to Civil Hospital. His accomplices, however, managed to flee under the cover of darkness.
