President of Pakistan Arif Alvi has approved the summary of the elevation of three justices to the Supreme Court (SC) under Article 175A of the Constitution, 24NewsHd TV channel rereported on Wednesday. 

According to the details, Arif Hussain Alvi okayed the cabinet’s summary recommendation to elevate three judges to the Supreme Court including Chief Justice Islamabad High Court Athar Minallah, Justice Shahid Waheed of Lahore High Court, and Justice Syed Azhar Rizvi of Sindh High Court. 

The President also approved the appointment of Justice Amir Farooq as Chief Justice Islamabad High Court (IHC).

The parliamentary committee for the appointment of judges on November 4 gave its node to the recommendation of the Judicial Commission of Pakistan for the elevation of the three judges.
