Punjab CM inaugurates upgraded emergency block at Services Hospital
Mohsin Naqvi reiterates resolve to ensure better public service delivery in Punjab

Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi inaugurated the upgraded emergency block of the Services Hospital in Lahore, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Friday.
Provincial Ministers Javed Akram and Amir Mir, Health Secretary Ali Jan Khan, Lahore Commissioner Muhammad Ali, CCPO Bilal Siddique and other officials concerned were present. The CM also took a round of the upgraded emergency block and was briefed about it.
Talking to the media, the chief minister reiterated his resolve to better the hospitals across the province, saying: “Efforts have been afoot to provide better facilities in all the hospitals of Punjab.”
“I have been visiting different hospitals on a daily basis to ensure better public service delivery.” Mohsin Naqvi said the DHQ hospitals in Multan and Lahore are much better. Efforts are being made to improve other DHQ hospitals in Punjab, he stressed, adding that the task will take 3-4 months to finish, he maintained.
The Punjab CM yesterday visited Mayo Hospital and issued directives to ensure high-quality and modern facilities at the emergency block. The emergency block will be equipped with 200 beds and state-of-the-art facilities after upgradation. The emergency ward, during the upgrade, will be temporarily shifted to the TB ward.
Mohsin Naqvi took a round of the emergency block and ordered finishing upgrade work at the earliest. He said the block should be equipped with the latest medical facilities and technologies. He also said that the wiring in the block should be underground and damped walls should be treated with durable materials.
Visiting the under-construction cafeterias, reading room and the police station, the Punjab CM ordered high-speed internet to be installed in the reading room. He said that the cafeterias should provide quality food at reasonable rates as per the hygiene standards.
The chief minister started paying visits to the government's hospitals after becoming the chief executive of the province. He interacted with the patients and attendants and listened to them. Negligent and corrupt persons faced the music.
The medical superintendent (MS) of Sargodha District Headquarters Hospital was shown doors a few days ago as patients and their attendants made a litany of complaints to Mohsin Naqvi about the lack of facilities in the hospital and negligence on the part of the doctors.
