The Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has decided to recall its staffers stationed in European countries, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
Amid the suspension of PIA flights to European countries and in a bid for cost-cutting, the PIA management took the major decision of withdrawing its staff from four European countries.
The Airlines is recalling staff from Milan (Italy), Oslo (Norway), Copenhagen (Denmark) and Barcelona (Spain), the TV channel reported.
The staff and officers returning from the European stations will also help reduce costs, PIA Spokesperson Abdullah Khan said.
The PIA management decided that from now onwards European stations will be operated by PIA General Sales Agents.
The TV channel reported that orders for the return of the staff and officials will be issued this week.
It is pertinent to note that PIA flights were banned by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency in July amid the pilots’ suspected licences scandal in the PIA.
