The entire Chah Miran Bazaar in the Makhan Pura area of Lahore was quarantined on Friday after 17 citizens were tested positive for coronavirus.
Police had been deputed at the entry and exit points in the locality as a total of 154 houses were sealed and the markets closed.
According to local PTI leader Malik Zaman Naseeb, the coronavirus spread was triggered by a person who had returned from Spain, which not only affected his family members but also a prayer leader.
The samples of more than 50 people were collected after a complete lockdown in the area which had been sealed after the virus was found in 17 of them, said Malik.
He added that the district administration had distributed ration among 70 families and the entire area had been disinfected on Thursday.
On the other hand, the unfathomable decisions made by the Punjab IG Prisons were resulting in coronavirus spread in jails across the provinces, as another 125 prisoners would be shifted from the Camp Jails to other facilities on Friday.
Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar had also mentioned in a tweet that a total of 70 prisoners were tested positive for the virus.
But it is not limited to just inmates only as the prison staff have been infected. One of them is Jail Warden Naveed left for his home while making some excuse. He is now ensuring treatment in his native area.
Naveed is just an example as the staff members are not happy with the arrangements made to tackle the situation.
