480 vaccinated against coronavirus in Punjab prisons

The Punjab government has launched an anti-corona vaccine drive to vaccinate prisoners and jail staff across the province, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Minister for Prisons Affairs Fayyaz-ul-Hassan Chohan on Saturday said 480 prisoners have been vaccinated against coronavirus so far including 107 prisoners and four jail employees.
Fayyaz-ul-Hassan Chohan said the ongoing vaccination campaign is being carried out in collaboration with the concerned CEO Health of each district.
Chohan said a ban on visits to prisoners this week was also a part of the measures to contain the spread of Covid-19.
The minister said that the Punjab government was fighting against COVID-19 under the leadership of Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar.
Earlier on Wednesday, Sindh launched a drive to vaccinate prisoners aged 50 and above across provincial prisons, aiming to inoculate 1,882 inmates and 641 jail staff during a campaign.
