Punjab Health department to install laminar flow hoods in govt hospitals

On the recommendations of Punjab Healthcare Commission, Health department has decided to install laminar flow hoods in all government hospitals, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The decision was made in a high-level meeting held at the Punjab Healthcare Commission. The meeting was chaired by Punjab Health Ministers Khawaja Imran Nazir and Khawaja Salman Rafique. The meeting discussed key matters related to the handling, use, and purchase of Avastin injection, and the creation of standard operating procedures (SOPs). The meeting was attended by CEO Dr. Saqib Aziz, Dr. Saira (Dean of IPH), Prof. Asad Aslam Khan, Dr. Mushtaq Salharia, and other officials. Training and awareness videos about the safe use of Avastin injection were also shown during the meeting. The ministers were also informed about a detailed awareness program for children’s health.
Punjab Health Ministers directed the Punjab Healthcare Commission to take strict action against fake doctors (quacks).
Kh Salman Rafique said that action should be taken without discrimination against all unqualified medical practitioners.
He added that the commission’s board has been formed according to the directions of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif. Khawaja Salman Rafique stated that the government will further strengthen the commission.
Khawaja Imran Nazir also said that private labs are being brought under a regulatory framework. Dr. Saqib Aziz mentioned that special inspections of hospitals are ongoing to improve health services. Dr. Shafqat Ijaz and Additional Director Dr. Huma Rasheed also attended the meeting.
