Despite the Sindh government’s claims that it has taken steps to control cheating and prevent paper leakages in the matriculation exams currently in progress in the province, there is no let-up in such incidents, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.

Not only is the situation worse in interior Sindh, but also in Karachi, where unconcerned people are seen roaming at examination centers without fear despite the imposition of section 144.

And this does not stop here as students have been seen openly cheating while solving their papers with the help of latest gadgets such as cellphones and laptops.

This is despite the fact that bringing such devices to examination halls is banned.

On Thursday, a solved biology paper was leaked in Karachi and shared with WhatsApp groups 15 minutes prior to its start.

At several examination centers in Daharki, a solved mathematics paper was leaked and shared with WhatsApp groups, while the examiners and the administration seemed completely helpless.

Similar reports were received from Ghotki where too the mathematics paper was leaked well before the students could start solving it.

In Kashmore, where matriculation exams are being held under the auspices of Larkana Board, the Computer Science paper was leaked and shared with WhatsApp groups.

In Larkana, the Biology paper was leaked.

Court seeks report on incident of slapping of teacher

Also on Thursday, a district and sessions judge in Tharparkar ordered the SSP to submit a report on the incident of slapping of a teacher, who was an invigilator at an examination center, in two days’ time.

Giving directives to the SSP, Judge Mehboob Ali Dayo said that a student’s brother had slapped the teacher when the latter did not allow him to cheat. "I want to know whether the case had been registered against the guilty person," the judge added.
