Five cops arrested in Narowal for robberies, sex trade, extortion

Five policemen were arrested in Narowal for their involvement in different heinous crimes including robberies, thefts, sex trade and extorting money from citizens through blackmailing, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.

Three of these arrested persons were stationed at Shakargarh City Police Station and one at Zafarwal Police Station while another was a member of the Special Protection Unit and performing his duties at Nandipur Power Project.

It is reported that they worked as a gang in an organised manner and used their women accomplices to blackmail people as they ran a brothel under the protection of police for 10 years. During the process, they extorted millions of rupees from different victims.

But the arrested policemen were also involved in dozens of cases of bike snatching and theft. 

The names of the accused are: Head Constable Tahir Naseeb, Constable Adil Khan and Constable Rehmatullah [Shakargarh], Muhammad Arif [Zafarwal] and Muhammad Inam [Nandipur Power Project].

According to SHO Shoaib Kamran, the gang committed these crimes across the district and the detained accused are being interrogated after registration of cases.
