Punjab Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi is all focused on uplifting his native city of Gujrat to a higher level and for the purpose he is bulldozing every obstacle on the way.
The latest episode was surfaced on Tuesday as the chief minister made a big dent in the province’s education budget and released for Gujrat Rs20 million from allocated fund, meant for ensuring facilities to students in Punjab, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
As per documents, the Rs20 million were spared from funds allocated for setting up IT and science labs, and providing furniture. The funds were now heading for development projects especially the water supply schemes in Gujrat.
Punjab Finance Department has transferred the Rs20 million funds to the accounting of Housing Department.
It may be mentioned here that so far the Punjab government had approved projects worth Rs1.20 trillion for Gujrat Division.
