It is to be noted here that the Qalandars in their campaign opener had gained a narrow one-run victory against PSL foe Multan Sultans in a nail-biter.
The team experienced a setback in their second match against Karachi Kings and suffered a massive 67-run defeat.
The Qalandars, however, pulled off an impressive comeback and defeated Quetta Gladiators by 63 runs in their third match.
The team flattened Peshawar Zalmi by 40 runs in their fourth match by posting 241 for 3, their highest batting total in PSL 8.
The Qalandars then inflicted a crushing 110-run defeat on Islamabad United in their fifth PSL 8 match.
In their sixth match, Qalandars staged a magnificent recovery from 50 for 7 to win by 17 runs, and they kept Quetta Gladiators rooted to the bottom of the PSL table.
In their seventh match, a 69-run third-wicket partnership between Sam Billings and Abdullah Shafique combined with Rashid Khan’s three-for pushed the defending champions Lahore Qalandars into the PSL play-offs, with 21-run victory over Multan Sultans.
The team, however, failed to maintain the winning streak in their eighth match as they lost to Peshawar Zalmi by 35 runs.
The Qalandars, however, managed to stage a comeback in their ninth match as they inflicted a thumping 119-run victory on Islamabad United.
