The coalition government has barred any further working on the single national curriculum (SNC) introduced by the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) government, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
Quoting its sources, the channel reported that as per fresh instructions, the students, from class 6th to class 8th, would be taught the old syllabus, and not the new one.
On the other hand, educationists have protested against the government’s decision.
Calling the SNC a national asset, Razaur Rehman, an educationist, has said that any further change in the curriculum will not be acceptable at any cost. “The government is requested to get on with the SNC,” he said, and has added that he strongly condemns any such move.
Serving Schools and Colleges Association president has said that the government’s decision to roll back the new curriculum is not a good decision at all. “The SNC had been devised following consultations with educationists from across Pakistan, and any change merely on political grounds will prove detrimental for the students,” he opined.
