ECNEC approves two new motorways, Pakistan University of Engineering

The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) Friday approved the construction of two motorways including Peshawar to Dera Ismail Khan and Dir from Chakdara to Rabbat.

According to the 24News HD TV channel, the ECNEC meeting was chaired by Finance Minister Shaukat Tareen and approved Rs38.99 billion for the Dir Motorway project.

The Dir Motorway would have four lanes from Chakdara to Rabbat and would be 29.37 kilometres long.

ECNEC also approved 360 kilometres long Peshawar to Dera Ismail Khan Motorway and it would be a six-lane motorway.

Underpasses, tunnels and bridges would also be constructed in the 276.52 km of this six-lane motorway from Peshawar to DI Khan.

ECNEC also approved the Pakistan University of Engineering and Technology at a cost of Rs 23.54 billion
