Fazl proposes elections’ boycott on EVM issue in PDM meeting

The opposition parties’ alliance, the Pakistan Democratic Movement head Maulana Fazlur Rehman Friday proposed a boycott of the next general elections on the issue of the Electronic Voting Machine (EVM).

According to the 24News HD TV channel, the PDM head put the proposal in the meeting held in Islamabad on Friday in which all parties unanimously decided to take a strong stance on the EVM issue.

During the meeting Maulana Fazlur Rehman put a proposal to boycott the next general elections if the government would not retreat to its stand on the matter of the EVM that is opposed by the PDM.

The PDM meeting, discussed the EVM issue in detail and decided to take a firm stand on it.

The PDM had already rejected the EVM introduced by the government and said it was the domain of the Election Commission of Pakistan.
