Senior politician Raja Muhammad Afzal – who was once a close associate of PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif – passed away on Saturday.
He was elected to the National Assembly on several occasions and had also served as a senator.
Raja Afzal wasn’t feeling well for the last several days. His funeral prayers would be offered in Jhelum, his native town.
Although the senior politician had enjoyed a long association with the Sharif family and PML-N, they developed differences in late 2012. As a result, he along with his two sons had left the party and joined the PPP in January 2013.
However, this association didn’t last long as he expressed his confidence in the leadership of Imran Khan and joined the PTI in early 2014.
