Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has extended greetings to his Pakistan counterpart Shehbaz Sharif,24NewsHD TV channel reported Monday.
Modi took to Twitter to greet Shehbaz, saying: “Congratulations to Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on his election as PM of Pakistan.
“India desires peace and stability in a region free of terror so that we can focus on our development challenges and ensure the well-being and prosperity of our people.”

President Tayyip Erdogan also greeted Shehbaz on becoming prime minister. He phoned Shehbaz, saying: “I am sure that under your leadership Pakistan and Turkey ties will grow.”
The prime minister expressed his gratitude to the Turkish leader for congratulating him and vowed to take steps to cement Pak-Turkish ties.
