Farewell in honour of FJMU pro-VC Dr Kamran

A graceful farewell ceremony was held in honour of Prof Dr Kamran Khan Khawaja, the pro-vice chancellor of Fatima Jinnah Medical University in Lahore.

According to a press release, Prof Dr Kamran Khalid Khawaja graced the occasion as chief guest. A meeting of the Academic Council was held, the press release said, adding that FJMU VC Prof Dr Khalid Masood Gondal congratulated Dr Kamran on achieving this unique honour from the institution.

Principal Prof Abdul Hameed, Registrar Prof Dr Muhammad Nadeem, Prof Ayesha Malik, Prof Aliya Zahid, Prof Naveed Akbar Hotiana, Prof Muzamil Hussain, Prof Imran Aslam, Prof Bilal Sheikho, Prof Qamar Ashfaq, Prof Munir Saleemi and heads of various departments participated.

Chairperson Department of Medicine/ Director Quality Enhancement Cell Prof. Bilquis Shabbir participated exclusively online from CPSP Headquarters Karachi with valuable comments. He conveyed her best wishes to Prof. Kamran Khalid Khawaja.

All the members of the Academic Council further expressed their best wishes, prayers, and memorable moments and thoughts regarding Prof Kamran. The members of the Academic Council said that his efforts for the institution are remarkable and will always be remembered. Prof. Qamar Ashfaq highlighted Prof. Kamran Khalid Khawaja's academic and professional career.

Prof Khalid Masud Gondal said that the services of Prof Kamran Khalid Khawaja in medical education, research, and training programme are unique and It is a matter of great honour for Prof. Kamran Khalid Khawaja to receive the Best University Teacher Award 2022 from the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan.

He added Dr Kamran has played a pivotal role in the approval of Fatima Jinnah Medical University's postgraduate programme from the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council.

He said that Prof Kamran Khalid Khawaja personally took an interest in the research journal of Fatima Jinnah Medical University and brought it up to the Y-category.

He further said that in the context of his brilliant abilities, Professor Kamran Khalid Khawaja is like an institution in himself, and he also has the honour of being the Brain of Fatima Jinnah Medical University. In the end, he said that Professor Kamran Khalid Khawaja heartedly performed his services as the Pro-Vice Chancellor and Chairperson of the Department of Surgery at Fatima Jinnah Medical University.

Dr Kamran expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all the faculty and distinguished guests, especially the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Khalid Masood, saying: "I feel very honoured and humbled to have been given this opportunity."

He said that it is a matter of great honour for me to work under the visionary leadership of Professor Khalid Masood Gondal. He especially thanked the Vice Chancellor, FJMU, all the faculty members, and the distinguished guests for organizing this prestigious event. At the end of the ceremony, a cake was also cut, and gifts were presented to Prof Kamran.
