Child’s leg crippled despite having anti-polio vaccine

A new polio case has surfaced in Madaiji Town of Shikarpur district, which has been confirmed by the District Officer Health.

One leg of the 18-month-old toddler Muhammad Rafid Brohi, son of Saleem Brohi has crippled although he was administered the anti-polio vaccine, the family claimed.

Saleem Brohi said that Neurosurgeon Muhammad Omer in Sukkur has confirmed poliovirus in the kid.

District Officer (Health) Shabbir Sheikh also confirmed the presence of poliovirus in the kid.

Father of the kid appealed to the government to help him with the treatment of his son. “I am a poor labourer and already find it hard to make ends meet, leave the alone costly treatment of the child. I appeal to the government and well-to-do people to help me with paying for the treatment of my minor son,” he made an earnest appeal.
