As no political party has got a majority either in the National Assembly or the Punjab Assembly after the general elections held on February 8, making it difficult to predict the nature of governments to be formed there, the ball is now in the court of independent candidates who will prove to be the deciding factor by throwing their weight behind one party or the other, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
In an important development, Malik Ghazanfar Abbas Cheena, winning independent candidate from PP-91, tehsil Mankeera, has convened the meeting of Hum Khyal (like-minded) group in Lahore today.
As many as 16 members of the group, elected to the Punjab Assembly from different parts of the province, will attend the meeting at which the formation of the provincial government will come under discussion.
In this connection, Cheena has already reached Lahore and is busy overseeing arrangements.
