Former captain of Pakistan cricket team Shahid Khan Afridi on Friday said that the kind of promises Prime Minister Imran Khan had made to the nation before coming to power later became a headache for him since he found it hard to fulfil them, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Talking to reporters in London, he said 10 to 15 years were required to materialize these promises.
He was of the view that he should have been better prepared and done his homework properly before taking office. “The prime minister should have picked honest and dedicated persons as members of his cabinet,” the former skipper said.
At the same time, however, he said it did not mean that PM Imran had done nothing for the masses. “The only thing is that his team is unable to tell to the people its achievements,” he added.
Afridi said he would not enter politics since he feared he, too, would be labelled as a leader taking U-turns frequently.
