Six terrorists including mastermind of attack on Chinese engineers arrested in Quetta

Security forces personnel conducted various intelligence-based operations in different areas of Balochistan and arrested six terrorists including two would-be suicide bombers from Lasbela and the mastermind of October attack on Chinese engineers, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.
Sources in security forces said that these hardened terrorists were plotting to foreigners and security forces in Karachi.
Sources further revealed that they arrested a terrorist from Wander area who was the mastermind of suicide attack on Chinese engineers at Karachi Airport last month.
The security forces arrested another four terrorists from different areas of Balochistan in various intelligence-based operations.
Earlier on October 2, 2024 two Chinese nationals had been killed and at least 10 people injured in a suicide attack near Karachi Airport.
The Chinese embassy in Pakistan had then said that the terrorist attack had targeted a convoy of Chinese engineers working on a power project in Sindh.
The outlawed Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), which has in recent years carried out attacks on Chinese nationals involved in development projects in Pakistan, has said it carried out the attack.
The Chinese embassy said that the engineers were part of the Chinese-funded enterprise Port Qasim Power Generation Co Ltd, which aims to build two coal power plants at Port Qasim, near Karachi.
