Tourists’ stranded at Babusar Pass rescued

Police and administration of Chilas, divisional capital of Diamer District in Gilgit Baltistan (GB), Monday rescued as many as 60 tourists from the Babusar Pass stranded amid the season’s first snowfall, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The rescue operation led by Rescue 1133, Gilgit Baltistan Scouts, and Tourist Police lasted for three hours. All tourists were shifted to the hotels.
Tourists thanked the Chilas administration for timely rescue operations.

Pertinent to note that Babusar Pass or Babusar Top (elevation 4,173 metres or 13,691 feet) connects Khagan Valley via the Thak Nala with Chilas on the Karakoram Highway (KKH).
Earlier reports came that heavy snowfall fell on Babusar Top that trapped passengers.
