A 22-year-old pregnant woman was allegedly set on fire by her in-laws over a minor tiff in Jalalpur Jattan area of Gujrat on Sunday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to the victim’s family, Iqra was married to Iftekhar six months ago and was pregnant when her husband’s sister subjected her to brutal torture and then setting her ablaze after dousing her with petrol.

Soon after the incident, Iqra was taken to a hospital by the family where she fought for life for a week but succumbed to her burns.
The grief-stricken family staged a protest against the police for failing to take any action. They also staged a protest by blocking Gujrat to Azad Kashmir main GT Road.

“We will not call off the protest until justice is served to us,” said the family.

The family continued the protest by placing the dead body in Kachehri Chowk and burned tires to block the traffic.
