With the permission of the Supreme Court (SC), Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has started recruitment after a five-year interval against 210 posts on a one-year extendable contract, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.
The last recruitment of pilots in the PIA was done in 2016 and that of flight attendants in 2017.
A batch of 60 flight attendants, recruited in 2017, was sent home after the completion of their one-year contract.
In the wake of the SC’s ban on jobs, the one-year contract of the flight attendants was not extended.
Now, applications have been invited from eligible candidates for the new recruitment till September 25, 2023.
Intermediate with professional qualification has been made mandatory for 10 ATR pilot posts.
The minimum educational qualification for 40 flight attendant posts is graduation.
Recruitments are also being made against 16 posts of Pay Group 6 to 8 in the IT Department.
Relevant academic and professional qualifications are required for recruitment against positions from senior system administrator to manager.
“The new recruitments will help improve PIA operations,” the PIA spokesperson said.
