Accepting the police’s petition, an anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Lahore on Tuesday declared two PTI leaders Mian Aslam Iqbal and Khurram Shahzad ‘proclaimed offenders’ (POs) in the case of torching police vehicles in Gulberg on May 9, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
ATC judge Arshad Javed pronounced the verdict.
Speaking on the occasion, the investigation officer (IO) said that despite the fact that advertisements were published in newspapers, they still did not appear in court. “Fearing they might get arrested, they both have gone into hiding,” he added.
Thousands of people came out on the streets following the arrest of their leader Imran Khan from a court in Islamabad.
They went wild as they torched and vandalized government and military installations besides damaging the statues of the Pakistan Army martyrs.
