Peshawar Zalmi's captain Babar Azam was dismissed for a duck against Quetta Gladiators his first game of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025 against Quetta Gladiators.

Surprisingly, it was a soft dismissal on the last ball of the first over bowled by Muhammad Amir when Babar played a good length ball held on the pitch outside the off stump off the front foot half-heartedly and only managed to chip it straight to short extra cover where Rilley Rossouw took a brilliant catch diving forward.

This marks his ninth duck in PSL history, placing him third among the top players with the most ducks in the league.

Despite this setback, Babar Azam remains the leading run-scorer in PSL history, amassing over 3,500 runs with an impressive average exceeding 45. His consistency with the bat has been a cornerstone for his teams over the years.

The record for the most ducks in PSL is held by Imad Wasim, who has been dismissed for zero 12 times. Following him is Wahab Riaz with 10 ducks. Babar's ninth duck now places him just behind these players in this less-desired statistic and he is followed by his elder cousin Kamran Akmal with 8 ducks.

As the PSL 2025 season progresses, fans and analysts will be keenly watching Babar Azam's performances, anticipating a strong comeback from the seasoned batsman who is facing a lean patch in his career that extending day by day.
