In a bizarre turn of events, a student from a private university in Haryana, India, was allegedly caught trying to sneak his girlfriend into the boys' hostel by hiding her inside a large suitcase.
The unusual attempt, which was captured on camera recently on the university's campus in Sonipat, has since gone viral on social media, drawing widespread attention.
The incident reportedly took place at OP Jindal Global University in Sonipat.
In the now-viral video, hostel security guards can be seen unzipping a suspicious-looking suitcase while a group of students stands around watching.
Moments later, a young woman emerges from inside the luggage, visibly disoriented but unharmed, leaving the guards visibly shocked.
Sources claim the girl was allegedly the student's girlfriend and had agreed to the plan in a bid to enter the hostel undetected.
How the security personnel discovered the hidden presence inside the suitcase remains unclear, though speculation suggested they may have acted on a tip-off or found the student's behavior suspicious. However, it's evident the student’s plan to smuggle the girl into the hostel did not succeed.
One of the students present at the scene allegedly recorded the incident, and the clip quickly began circulating online, sparking widespread criticism and concern.
Despite the serious nature of the breach, the university’s Public Relations Officer (PRO) appeared to downplay the event.
In a statement, the PRO said that the students involved were “just being mischievous” and that it was “not a big deal.”
The response has drawn backlash from some quarters, with critics arguing that such a lenient view of the matter could encourage future violations of campus rules and compromise student safety.
The identity of the students involved has not been officially disclosed, and there has been no confirmation of disciplinary action by the university administration as of yet.
